A meeting of the Sugar Advisory Board was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain.

The meeting was attended by a delegation of the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association, led by Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf, along with cane commissioners from all provinces and representatives from different ministries.

It was decided that the sugarcane crushing season would commence from November 15, 2025 across the country. The federal minister stated, "This decision has been made after comprehensive consultations with all provinces and the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association to ensure that sugarcane growers do not face any difficulties." Hussain emphasised that strict action would be taken against any sugar mill that failed to start crushing on the prescribed date.
